Original Inspiration: A doodle I did while I was waiting for everyone
else to finish a test in class at college.

The original doodle on notebook paper is on the
left above. I did quite a bit of work on this in the first stage. I love to
play with brushes, patterns, filters and other tools in Paint Shop Pro. A
lot of times they allow me to put together backgrounds a lot faster than I
could paint them up by hand.

In this stage I cleaned up a little of the color
blocking first. It's still not perfect, but it's getting there. I also
started adding some details like the claws. I worked on the rock he's
perched on and also did some adjusting to the background. I still need to
adjust shading on the foreground perch, but I'm okay with it for the moment.
The wings are still there, but they're layer is just not shown here.

I'm very slowly making progress each time I come back to this piece.
Here I worked on smoothing out the color blocking more as well as working
some more on the horns and shiny bits. When I got bored with that, I went
for doodling in a bit of shadow mapping.
