No subtle bit of death is our Stinger. No, she does
not hide her deadly ways. She is the fiercest warrior of our little Unseelie
troupe and lets it be apparent. She requires no weapons for she is a weapon
herself. Deadly poison coats her talons and she is the only one immune that
we know of. A mere scratch could be fatal within moments. It is for that
reason that she is the Lady's Chosen, protector of the female half of our
leadership.
Still, there are those fools who let her beauty, her deadly elegance entice
them into the vicious dance of wooing her. Perhaps one day she will find one
who will survive it. Until then it is certainly amusing to see some besotted
mooncalf trying to catch her eye, thinking he is strong enough to conquer
her. I like to sit back and view the entertainment over a nice glass of rose
wine. Fools indeed....

This digital painting was inspired by a lovely stock photo by
Lady Sivali Stock.
As you can see, there are two versions of this image. The top is the
original with a background that used a tiny sample of a photo by
Defabe Stock
which was heavily manipulated. The lower one was made for printing since
Defabe
never answered me as to whether I could print the top version. While I likely legally could have
gotten by with it since it was so heavily altered, I decided to just use one
of my own photos. The background lacks the lovely balance with the layout
and flow now, but at least I can sell this complete version now instead of
having to sell it with just the fairy. The painting was created using Paint Shop Pro 9. I'm uncertain as to the
amount of time it actually took.
