Ah, the wonderful world of insomnia. I do a great amount of art in that bleary eyed
condition of being too wired up to sleep. This piece is one of those "Ye Gods! I'm SO
bored and can't sleep!" works. It was an experiment, really. I was seeing if I could
approximate the look of oil pastels on the computer and toying around with a sort of
impressionistic style. I think I achieved both, but not fabulously. In my half conscious
state, I put really huge text on it. (DOH!). Here I've painted out the title to minimize
that mistake, but left the year and my name on it because I didn't want to risk ruining
the image. Among the first images I did in Paint Shop Pro from start to finish.
This piece was displayed in the digital art show at Dragon*Con 2002.
