Some loves are not the great love of one's life. In fact, some loves are utterly false. Marsen was definitely not a true love, though anyone who told Lenia that would have stirred her wrath. No, he was only with her to suit the plans of his master. She was beautiful. There was no doubt of that. She was also a little minx when he bedded her. But, in the depths of his soul, he truly hated her and everything she stood for. He was dark elf and she was was not. There was no real common ground between them despite his pretending. The sound of her voice murmuring endearments, even when they were rather ribald and naughty, disgusted him. Her touch made his skin crawl. Yet he could only let it show when no one was around. He would bide his time, smug in the knowledge that he was only using her body to rut and nothing more, that he would stay only long enough to get the information his master needed. When he left, it would be in the dark of night. Before he went, he would break her... body, mind and soul... he would leave precious little for them to put back together.

This is a rework of a very old pencil drawing I did in the early 90's. The original is in the Gallery A  pencil section here on the site. I'm not sure I really like how it turned out. I don't feel it's the best work I've done. I'm totally not happy with the hair on either of them. I think the only thing I'm really fond of is the background. :-/ Created in Paint Shop Pro 9 over 7 to 8 hours.
