Jolie E.
Bonnette was born in southeast Texas in 1970. She has always been involved in
art, writing and performance in one form or another since she was a small child.
She overcame her abusive family background and a life filled with medical
pitfalls through her creative activities and growth via spiritual study. Much of
her subject matter is spawned by intense interest in world mythologies and
cultures, literature, alternative religions and sci-fi/fantasy/horror media. In
addition to creating art, she plays hand drums, flutes and various other
instruments as well as being an actress, singer and poi spinner. Jolie is active in her
spiritual community, donating her time and art or performing for various charity
events. She currently resides in Houston, TX with her fiancé, Brooks, her cat
Pixie and two ferrets, Lilo and Nani.
Though she has no
degrees in the arts, she has taken a number of courses throughout high school
and college which were geared toward art techniques, music, theater, publication
and design.
Artist Quote: "I just do what
I do whether people like it or not. Everything eventually finds its audience in
the right time and place. Above all else, I do what I do because I have a really
good time of it. *laughs*"

through the ordeal and not retrievable or I've had trouble committing it to

1981-1982
Levi Fry Jr. High Chorus
Two years of singing just about every part the choir fell down on. I was always
in the middle of the platform to get back on track those who lost their part
during performances. Back then my range went from high bass to mid-range
soprano, though I was technically slotted as an Alto II.

In the role of the lead fairy for Titania, I also wrote the tune to which we
sang part of our lines and helped choreograph a dance to said tune. Also served
as make-up and hair assistant for fairy chorus and three lead fairy characters
(Puck, Titania and Oberon). Also assisted the costume designer a little bit with
accessorizing the costumes for the fairies.

Executive Editor
I ran this specialty Pagan periodical from front to back, managing the office
and talent, creating the layout and graphics for the magazine and printing it
all from home. I also arranged for distribution in local stores, online and by
mail and sold/traded advertising.
2003
Renderosity Magazine
April 2003 issue
A short story of mine called "Cold Blue"
appeared in this issue. It won a contest, the grand
prize of which was publication. The funny thing is, I never thought I'd win
with a story I cobbled together from start to final edit in 45 minutes! It
was very strange to see my writing in such a classy format. *chuckle*
